Breeding stunning Maine Coon Cats for health, temperament, and joy
About SpaySecure
What is SpaySecure?
SpaySecure is a 3rd party that provides and executes spay/neuter contracts between breeders and their customers. The breeder tells SpaySecure when each kitten must be spayed/neutered by, and then the customer signs a spay/neuter contract with SpaySecure directly. SpaySecure then makes sure each kitten is spayed/neutered by the due date, and that appropriate proof of spay/neuter is submitted.
When we first started breeding, we have had our own spay/neuter contract and charged a $300 spay/neuter deposit. Families would have their kitten spayed/neutered, sent proof to us, and then we returned their spay/neuter deposit and turned over their kitten's TICA registration papers. Now, we no longer need to do any of that. We can register kittens to their new family immediately, forget about a deposit, and still feel confident that our kittens will be spayed/neutered appropriately.
This is also an added bonus for those interested in our kittens. Partnering with SpaySecure 1) helps validate us as legitimate breeders, not scammers, a kitten mill or backyard breeder. SpaySecure actually requires a personal phone call with each breeder to ensure they are not a kitten mill or backyard breeder, as they do not want to work with breeders like that either. 2) Those who purchase one of our kittens can feel confident that we are being responsible breeders and doing all we can to not add to the over population of cats in shelters. 3) Without having a spay/neuter deposit, there are no additional costs to our buyers. The SpaySecure fee that is charged to us is built into the price of each pet kitten.
If you have any further questions about SpaySecure, please feel free to contact us. You can also click on our SpaySecure badge below to visit their website. Those who are purchasing a kitten from us will get much more information when they reserve their kitten.
We require all pet kittens to be spayed/neutered between 6-12 months of age. Therefore, the SpaySecure contract will be required to be completed by the time the kitten is 13 months old.
